Are you looking to explore the history of Mississippi? Then you should check out the two museums located in northeastern Mississippi. The Mississippi Museum and the MDWFP (Natural Science Museum) are open Tuesday through Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and Sunday from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Both museums are closed on Mondays, as well as Easter, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's Day. The Mississippi Museum is situated in LeFleur's Bluff State Park, next to Lakeland Drive, on Interstate 55 in northeast Jackson. The MDWFP (Natural Science Museum) is located at 2148 Riverside Drive in Jackson, Mississippi 39202-1353. Groups can visit both museums and learn about the courage and hope of the state at the Mississippi Civil Rights Museum. The museum holds special “Magic Mondays”, when it is open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with special hours and programs.
